Rafting adventure on crystal-clear Sanna water!
Top rafting Imster Gorge & Sanna
The Imster gorge at Wildwasser 3, followed by the winding Sanna at Wildwasser 4 - no one stays dry!
Imster Gorge
The most popular rafting route in Europe, the Inn through the Imster Gorge. Here we have our first whitewater experiences in fantastic surroundings and learn all the necessary paddling techniques so that we can then master the difficult tour on the Sanna.
The adventure starts at our base in Ambach (2 km down the valley in Ötztal). There, we will first be equipped with optimal whitewater clothing. Then take a taxi to our boarding point in Imst. After a safety talk and training from our state-certified boat drivers, our trip through the beautiful Imster Gorge begins. Together, we drive the boat down the Inn with our paddle strokes. This is how we pass the flood of pipes to the mouth of the Ötztaler Ache. From here, the rapids pile up and an exciting wave ride begins.
In Haiming, where the taxi awaits us at our exit point with a final drink, we disembark after a journey of approx. 2 hours and a river distance of 14.5 km. The Imster Gorge is not only a great experience in Wildwasser III, but also the ideal preparation for
Sanna
On the way to the second tour and during the safety meeting, key points such as “Leaning Corner” and “Pianer Schwall” are discussed. After commands such as “Left — Forward! Right — backward! “We are well known to all of the participants, this sporty and technically difficult rafting trip. The uniqueness of the Sanna consists of the combination of technically difficult and narrow demanding passages, paired with crystal-clear green white water. The steeply sloping cataracts, severe blockages and winding passages of the Sanna challenge the boat, skipper and the entire team. A huge adventure! These two tours are possible in one day, but can also be split over two days.
After a short break, this 2nd tour can be taken on the same day around 14:00 or the next day around 9:00 (depending on your request). This time, take a taxi to the entrance to the Paznaun Valley. Due to the narrowness of the Sanna and the sections, which are sometimes extremely difficult to navigate, key points such as Schiefes Eck and Pianer Schwall are visited and discussed as soon as they arrive (travel time approx. 35 minutes).
Once you get started, after a detailed safety discussion, this sporty and technically demanding rafting tour begins. This trip with difficult cataracts, heavy blockages and winding passages places the highest demands on the boat, guide and team! After returning to our base, taking a hot shower and possibly going to the sauna, we meet at the Ambachhof to round off. There, every participant receives a certificate of commemoration of this great whitewater experience!
