Stuibenfall Ötztal via ferrata
Climb the via ferrata next to the highest waterfall in Tyrol!
The starting point of the tour is the parking lot at the swimming lake in Umhausen. Passing Ötzi village, we arrive at the start of the Stuibenfall via ferrata after approx. 20 minutes. This ideal entry-level via ferrata is characterized by the transition from easy to difficult. Easy climbs lead first through the forest and later somewhat exposed to the rest area with a wall book in the middle of the via ferrata.
Strengthened with self-confidence and experience, you climb to the top of the 200m high wall. Once at the highest point, you can feel the spray from the falling Stuiben waterfall and experience an intensive mountain experience. At the very top, daring climbers still have the opportunity to cross the waterfall at its highest point using a steel cable that is only 3 cm thick. Adrenaline guarantee!!!
... “I had no time for my everyday thoughts anymore. My focus was only on the next step and step. After some time, peace returned to me and I was still enjoying it, step by step...” Sandra told us after her via ferrata experience on this wall. The waterfall, which was created around 9000 years ago, is the highest in Tyrol with a fall height of 159 m. A trail with several viewing platforms in partly exposed areas takes you back down to the valley.
