Canyoning Tour in Kühtai - Alpenrosenklamm
The most beautiful tour in the Ötztal in Tyrol — the Alps in a different way!
For whom:
beginners
Highlights:
Abseiling height of up to 15 meters possible
Jumps up to 3 meters high are possible
Slides up to 5 meters possible
Special features of the tour:
The highest jump and the highest slide can be repeated as often as you like — pure fun! From soft to action-packed, the tour is variably accessible for participants. The only obligation: 4x abseiling.
At our base in Ambach (located 2 km down the valley in Ötztal), each participant is dressed in a special 5mm neoprene canyoning suit, helmet, hiking boots and a seatbelt. Our minibuses take you to the gorge. After about 20 minutes driving, we are at a good 1,500 meters above sea level and thus at the entrance to the Alpenrosenklamm gorge. During a detailed safety discussion, the state-certified canyoning guide shows and explains to participants the correct behavior when canyoning.
Here we go: We climb into the Alpenrosenklamm gorge via a narrow path with roots and wet rock slabs, especially if necessary directly via an 8m abseiler from the Mareil Bridge. Over rough terrain, we come to an anchored steel cable. With self-protection, we shimmy our way down a narrow band of rock to the 3 m high first abseiling point. The further hike through the riverbed with its slippery stones leads under a waterfall rushing down from high above. After the last participant has finally woken up properly during this cold shower, an approx. 4 m high abseiling point follows, which flows into a flushed rock gums. Further downhill, a smaller steep slope of approx. 8 m has to be tackled, and there is another abseiling here. Once at the bottom, we stand on a rocky plateau, from where you can immediately feel both the beauty and the wildness of this gorge.
After a 7 m high abseiling point, another narrow band of rocks follows. Hooked on a steel cable ourselves, we shimmy our way to the highest abseiling point on this tour. Anyone who is canyoning for the first time and was “relaxed” until then will now get their adrenaline rush along with dry mouth, moist hands and an increased pulse rate: abseiling over a 12 m high overhanging rock face, into a shimmering green water pool. The relief of tackling this area wouldn't be long: a short distance further down the gorge, there are two jumps of about 3 minutes of wildly foaming water in quick succession! Of course, it is also possible to abseile or bypass the area. After this, there is not much time to breathe again: this is followed by a huge 7 m long water slide carved into the bedrock. If you don't want to avoid the slide, whizz down into the emerald green water under the guidance of the canyoning guide about the correct posture when sliding and diving with momentum. We then hike through the wonderfully natural and overgrown gorge landscape towards the exit. But before you can enjoy it in peace, you first have to overcome a 6 m abseiling point.
Done: We reach the barbecue area. At the campfire, the canyoning guide prepares a hearty Campfire food with drinks too. Attention! Grilling is only available on special request!
Back at the base, there's a schnapps — you've earned it after this adventure! Who likes to take a hot shower and go to the sauna. At the end, the canyoning guide presents the participants with their certificate of the successful and impressive canyoning tour Alpenrosenklamm.
